We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team at The Arrabelle at Vail Square, a luxury hotel located in the heart of Vail Square. As a Pastry Cook, you will work closely with our Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of pastry items, including pastries, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, mousses, custards, simple syrups, and jams.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing pastry items according to established recipes and customer service standards.
- Produce desserts for special events, banquets, and amenities, including wedding cakes and creative pastry displays.
- Communicate effectively with the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef regarding menu items and other kitchen issues.
- Follow established recipes and plating guides to ensure high-quality products.
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Vail Resorts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of culinary experience, preferably in a pastry role.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Ability to read and present detailed information to managers and employees.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Competitive hourly rate of $24.49.
