Job Summary

The Military Controls Executive will report to the Executive Director of Sciences Engineering and will provide leadership and oversight for quality engineering design, execution, and product safety for GE Aviation products and services. In this critical role, this individual will also provide leadership and technical direction, influence customer requirements, and clearly communicate and execute on customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide ongoing presence in secure facilities for both employee and customer interface.
  • Lead and direct assigned organizational responsibilities, programs, and personnel.
  • Collaborate across product lines and disciplines to drive technical excellence.
  • Promote technical innovation and growth within the organization.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external and internal interfaces to ensure customer requirements are understood and met.
  • Develop and implement engineering program requirements, timing, and resources to meet business objectives.
  • Communicate technical and financial aspects of section activities vertically and horizontally in the organization.
  • Ensure positive actions are taken to encourage growth, technical development, and improved interpersonal skills.
  • Create a robust engagement strategy and operating rhythms.
  • Implement compliance initiatives and training requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in responsiveness to customer and business needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 8 years of technical leadership experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance.
Desired Characteristics
  • Master's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Prior experience in managing multiple technical programs and designing new products.
  • Experience in controls systems engineering.
  • Ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Strong business acumen and customer mindset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-business environment and develop technology synergy.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
