Job Overview

The focus of this position is on fluid systems that influence the mechanical components of military engines, particularly in control, fuel, and hydraulic systems. As a design engineer, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and assessment of assigned projects within the fluid systems division, utilizing sound engineering principles while adhering to established business standards, practices, and program requirements. This role involves problem-solving to address fuel system field challenges, minimize customer disruptions, provide manufacturing support, and contribute to the product design of our military engine and its derivatives.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties
  • Conduct the design, analysis, and evaluation of pumps, actuators, and mechanical controls for military and derivative products, including electromechanical interface devices.
  • Apply sound engineering principles while complying with business standards, practices, procedures, and product & program requirements.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of fluid system controls and mechanical design, leveraging prior experience and technical expertise to implement policy and strategy.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of key business drivers to effectively accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate autonomy in decision-making within a defined framework while addressing design challenges that require technical knowledge and judgment.
  • Review designs and collaborate with senior technical leaders for work evaluation.
  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to cultivate robust internal and external customer relationships, serving as a key interface within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
Preferred Attributes
  • Current Secret U.S. Department of Defense clearance or higher.
  • Experience with pumps, actuators, valves, and verification activities at the component or system level.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to analyze and resolve issues.
  • Capability to document, plan, market, and execute programs, along with established project management skills.
  • A commitment to mentorship and professional development.
This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will be contingent upon the ability to obtain authorization for access to such information from the U.S. Government.
