Job Summary

The Advanced Programs section at GE Aviation is responsible for driving innovation and development of cutting-edge technologies and engine concepts. As a Subsection Manager for Advanced Military IR/Thermal Design, you will lead a team of engineers in the development of advanced components and systems demonstration programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of engineers responsible for the design, development, and testing of advanced military IR/thermal systems.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to drive standard work and program execution.
  • Collaborate with government customers, airframers, and GE stakeholders to drive execution on technical objectives.
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments.
  • Develop and document design process standard work and analytical methods.
  • Shape and contribute to technical solutions that align next-generation warfighter needs with applicable technology development roadmaps.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant engineering position.
  • Minimum of 3 years of GE Aerospace experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level or higher.
Desired Characteristics
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience with engine/aircraft integration, engine component/systems design, engine performance, engine controls, and vehicle power/thermal systems.
  • Experience working with DoD customer and processes.
  • Experience managing DoD EVM projects.
  • Experience with GE Aerospace financial and program management tools.
  • Strong track record of ability to work in a team environment with demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills.
