Position: Desktop Support Technician

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Desktop Support Technician to provide exceptional technical assistance and support to our clients. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of client systems and enhancing user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver service operations including IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change), Break Fix, and Desk Side Support in alignment with established Managed Client Policies.
  • Engage with end users to clarify expectations and schedule Managed Client Services effectively.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, perform parts replacements, execute system upgrades, and manage basic deployments and repairs on client devices such as desktops, laptops, and printers.
  • Proactively identify potential issues that may negatively affect the end user experience and implement corrective actions.
  • Aim to meet all service level agreements (SLAs) and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Report to the Desktop Support Lead regarding any challenges affecting client operations.
  • Act as a foundational role to develop both technical and customer service skills, paving the way for advancement into more complex field service positions.
  • Carry out basic installation and maintenance tasks for technical products.
  • Adhere to established procedures and guidelines in daily operations.
  • Receive regular oversight from senior technical specialists to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and ensure the operational quality of desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance-related issues effectively.
  • Provide maintenance and repair services to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Advise clients on preventive maintenance and configurations that could impact product performance, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Educate clients on the operation and upkeep of their systems.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of policies and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment for non-routine matters while primarily focusing on routine tasks.
  • May be required to respond to after-hours calls as directed by leadership.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and moving enterprise and client technology hardware within various environments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in desktop or technical support.
  • Proficient in Active Directory.

Preferred Skills:

  • A+ certification or equivalent skill set is highly desirable; additional certifications for various hardware platforms are advantageous.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is beneficial due to the nature of this role.
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, subnetting, and firewalls.
  • Experience with Smart Hands Support, Active Directory, SCCM, ServiceNow, and Ring Central (VOIP) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Windows 10 operating system environment.
  • Exemplary client service skills are essential.
  • Ability to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an undergraduate degree or some college coursework is preferred.
