Position Overview:

The Gathering Place (Brattleboro Area Adult Day Services) is dedicated to providing a supportive environment for adults with diverse physical and cognitive abilities. We offer a variety of engaging activities including music, arts, games, and exercise.

Role Summary:

We are looking for a dependable and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Activity and Meal Service Coordinator. This position combines responsibilities in meal preparation and service with assisting participants in various activities and personal care tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and verify meals from vendors, ensuring accurate temperature records and meal counts.
  • Serve meals in accordance with established dietary guidelines and accommodate participants with special dietary needs.
  • Assist participants with personal care tasks during non-meal times, including toileting and bathing.
  • Engage participants in activities and foster a sense of community.
  • Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing dishes and food preparation areas, and assist with laundry duties.
  • Document meal counts, food temperatures, and order supplies as necessary.
  • May assist in documenting participant vital signs and medication administration.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, day shift. No weekends or evenings.

Compensation:
Starting at $17 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in food service, dietary/nutrition, or personal care assistance is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Basic understanding of nutrition and dietary needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift up to thirty pounds.
