We are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator II to join our team at American States Utility Services, Inc. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of water treatment processes and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine inspections and monitoring of water treatment plant processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Operate and maintain water treatment plant equipment, including pumps, motors, and chemical feed systems.
- Collect and analyze water samples to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Develop and implement plans to improve water treatment processes and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of water treatment services.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in water treatment.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in water treatment operations.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in water treatment, such as CWEA or WEF.
- Experience with water treatment software and equipment.
