Manufacturing Operations Director

Job Summary
TSC is seeking an experienced Manufacturing and Operations Supervisor to direct the manufacturing and packaging functions for high-quality products and achieve business drivers of cost, quality, customer service, compliance, and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing technologies, machinery, and production processes, as well as knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Directs the preparation of cost control reports, cost estimates, and manpower and facilities requirement forecasts.
- Controls the cost of production, warehousing, receiving, and shipping of raw materials through appropriate subordinates.
- Ensures prompt and economical receipt of needed materials and supplies, and delivery of finished products to customers.
- Directs the preparation of specifications for purchase as to quality, quantity, delivery, and service required for purchase of plant equipment, supplies, and materials to meet production schedules.
- Establishes and maintains inventory controls and levels to conform to budgets and forecasts.
- Ensures good workplace organization along with focus on mass balance and high yield.
- High accountability for waste management.
- Champions change and implements continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma (Operational Excellence) initiatives to generate cost savings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and 8-10 years of industry experience.
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Understanding of manufacturing technologies, machinery, and production processes. Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
- Exceptional understanding of business operations and program management recurring tasks, reports, and workflows across supporting functional areas and operational teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with quality assurance protocols, ensuring products meet specifications and standards.
- In-depth understanding of workplace safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
- Lean Manufacturing Certification, Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Manufacturing Technologist (CMfgT) a plus.
- Experience outlining and executing project objectives, goals, milestones, and completion.
- Previous experience and knowledge with US Government compliance for timekeeping and expense reports, contract clauses, or similar governance.
- Comfortable serving as focal point for coordinating with multiple geographically separated work centers in different time zones to achieve time-sensitive deadlines for products, work plans, or deliverables.
- Strong attention to details; Excellent organization, planning skills, verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and get along with others.
- Ability to quickly learn new scope of work and grow with a scaling team.
