Job Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a highly qualified Director of Mathematics, Engineering, Science, and Achievement Program to lead the successful implementation of the MESA grant. This position is responsible for the fiscal, operational, and compliance administration of the grant, as well as the day-to-day management of the MESA Community College Program/MCCP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer program activities, including travel and events, to achieve grant objectives.
  • Collaborate with STEM faculty to develop and implement the MESA program, ensuring alignment with district goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the improvement of ARC's enrollment, retention, support, and graduation/transfer rates for MESA students.
  • Collaborate with the office of Institutional Research to analyze data and inform program decisions.
  • Provide regular updates to college administrators and constituency groups on program progress and outcomes.
  • Engage with community partners to develop opportunities for students and promote program success.
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate employees serving the MESA program.
  • Manage all administrative, budget, compliance, and reporting aspects for the Grant, including evaluating program needs and developing strategies for improvement.
  • Participate in College accreditation efforts and Program Review to ensure program alignment with district and state standards.
  • Solve operational problems as they arise in the implementation of the Grant, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution completed by September 18, 2024.
  • One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's administrative assignment.
  • Equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and developing strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Knowledge of STEM education and career development principles and practices.
  • Ability to analyze data and inform program decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
