Job Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a highly qualified Director of Mathematics, Engineering, Science, and Achievement (MESA) Program to lead the successful implementation of the MESA grant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the fiscal, operational, and compliance administration of the grant, as well as the day-to-day management of the MESA Community College Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Administration: Oversee the fiscal, operational, and compliance administration of the MESA grant, ensuring that all requirements are met and that the program is running smoothly.
  • Program Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the MESA Community College Program, including planning and administering program activities, collaborating with STEM faculty, and contributing to the improvement of ARC's enrollment, retention, support, and graduation/transfer rates for MESA students.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate with the office of Institutional research, provide regular updates to appropriate college administrators and constituency groups, engage with community partners to develop opportunities for students, and participate in College accreditation efforts and Program Review.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Hire, supervise, and evaluate employees serving the MESA program, and manage all administrative, budget, compliance, and reporting aspects for the Grant.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree from an accredited institution completed by September 18, 2024.
  • Experience: One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's administrative assignment.
  • Equity-Minded Focus: Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
