The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position in Computer Science. This role involves teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, helping students master course content, assessing learning outcomes, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of the subject area.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Teaching courses across all levels in Computer Science, including introductory and advanced courses
• Developing and implementing effective teaching strategies to engage students and promote learning
• Assessing student learning outcomes and providing feedback to students
• Maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of Computer Science concepts and technologies
• Utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties
• Participating in faculty governance, including accreditation and student co-curricular activities
• Assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review
Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or a bachelor's degree in either field with a master's degree in a related field such as Mathematics, Cybernetics, or Business Administration. The successful candidate must also have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
