Community Living Coordinator

Position Title: Residential Coordinator
Department: Adult Disability Services
Reports To: Program Support Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary: The Residential Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and guiding the Residential Counselors and the designated Cluster Home staff teams. This role ensures the effective operation of the home while promoting quality care and person-centered planning for all individuals served. The Coordinator is also tasked with fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships with community partners.
Leadership and Staff Development: Deliver clear and effective leadership to enhance staff performance within the MAB community.
- Design and implement staff schedules to maintain required ratios as outlined in safety protocols.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of payroll and attendance documentation.
- Facilitate training and provide electronic resources to staff for the effective execution of policies and procedures.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and follow up as necessary.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and evaluation processes for new staff.
Supervision: Conduct regular one-on-one supervision sessions with staff, either bi-weekly or weekly, as required.
- Organize and lead monthly staff and Cluster meetings, ensuring follow-up on action items.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to staff during their daily activities.
- Engage in crisis intervention and provide backup support as needed.
Quality Management: Oversee the management of the home, vehicles, and daily program operations while ensuring adherence to medical, financial, and clinical protocols.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely procurement of food and household supplies.
- Coordinate transportation needs and ensure staff have the necessary resources for participant activities.
- Manage daily maintenance and repair needs for the home and vehicles.
- Maintain and update training documentation and logs.
Compliance Oversight: Supervise staff training and adherence to all program policies, including documentation and financial management.
- Monitor daily financial records and address discrepancies as necessary.
- Administer petty cash and oversee participant bank account management.
- Assist participants with bill payments and financial concerns.
- Report any issues or changes to the Program Support Director.
Health and Medication Coordination: Advocate for and coordinate healthcare services for participants.
- Supervise medication administration practices in collaboration with staff.
- Ensure all medical appointments are scheduled and attended, with appropriate follow-up.
- Coordinate with nursing and clinical teams as necessary.
- Provide training for staff on medication administration and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
Person-Centered Approach: Promote a respectful and supportive environment that empowers participants.
- Encourage participant choice and engagement in their care plans.
- Prepare for and follow up on case reviews and individual support plans.
- Advocate for participants to enhance their quality of life.
Community Engagement: Build and nurture relationships within MAB and with external stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communication with participants' care teams and families.
- Foster connections with community partners and resources to support participants.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build healthy relationships.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret and implement state regulations and record-keeping systems.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to provide effective leadership and motivation.
- Bachelor's Degree and/or 2+ years of relevant residential experience required.
- Proven supervisory experience is essential.
- Proficiency with computers and adaptability to new software systems.
