Position Overview: We are currently seeking an Activities Coordinator for our Assisted Living community. This role involves designing and executing engaging daily activities tailored to the interests and needs of our residents. Creativity and a flair for event decoration are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead a variety of spiritual, physical, intellectual, cultural, and emotional programs that cater to a diverse resident population.
  • Foster connections with local organizations to enhance resident engagement through volunteer opportunities and external talents.
  • Continuously assess residents' interests and preferences to develop a dynamic schedule of activities.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and families to promote programs and share community highlights.
  • Monitor participation in activities to evaluate their effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
  • Stay informed about trends in active aging to enhance program offerings and share insights with colleagues.
  • Collaborate with team members to provide training and orientation for new staff.
  • Participate in community events and support groups as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • CPR and AED certification must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Prior experience in senior living or a related field is preferred.
  • A degree in Recreation Therapy or a similar discipline is desirable.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and resident needs.
