JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Operations Leader is accountable for the strategic planning, scheduling, and oversight of the production operations team within the facility. This role aims to achieve and surpass productivity, safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while ensuring compliance with established company policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise, coordinate, and assess the daily functions and performance of production staff to ensure high levels of productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and adherence to company policies and safety standards.
  • Oversee daily operations in the material handling sector for both direct and indirect labor.
  • Enhance employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, mentoring, and conflict resolution.
  • Implement timely corrective actions in alignment with company policy.
  • Conduct regular departmental or pre-shift meetings to promote employee engagement, communicate policy changes, address concerns, and encourage suggestions for improvement.
  • Participate in recruitment, performance evaluations, compensation assessments, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Analyze business demands, prioritize tasks, and allocate daily work assignments accordingly.
  • Establish staffing and line assignments based on priority lists.
  • Monitor work station assignments, breaks, and necessary overtime.
  • Achieve production targets while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
  • Manage inventory levels in production and material handling areas utilizing a warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Review and document all production activities.
  • Engage in the implementation of lean methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, and Kanban practices.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by leading safety training and reviewing standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Collaborate with the safety department to facilitate training, conduct observations, update preferred work methods, investigate accidents, and perform routine safety inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Professional Skills
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential for effective performance.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical guidelines, or regulatory requirements.
  • Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Proficient in presenting information and responding to inquiries from management and inter-departmental staff.
  • Skilled in collaborating with colleagues from various departments in a proactive and constructive manner.
  • Competent in leading discussions and meetings with individuals and teams.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Provide effective training to staff on SOPs, safety protocols, and conduct expectations.
  • Apply relevant policies consistently and objectively.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively, adjusting as necessary.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn and utilize guest supply technology software and programs (e.g., Warehouse Management System).

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other equipment.

  • Primarily work in a manufacturing and warehouse setting, with potential exposure to humid conditions, varying temperatures, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate, and the pace is fast.
  • May require the use of a scanner, power hand jack, manual hand jack, stacker, and forklift.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as goggles, hairnets, and steel-toed boots during operations.
  • Travel may be necessary for visits to other locations or attendance at company events, meetings, or training sessions.
  • May need to use personal vehicles for business travel, which could involve long periods of sitting.
  • Must possess a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability coverage meeting company standards.
  • This position may require evening, weekend, or other shift work based on business needs.
