Job Title: Lead Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Lead Support Specialist to join our team at the Mental Health Association - Western MA. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and safe environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support and advocacy to participants, promoting their growth, independence, and community engagement.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores, while encouraging participants to take ownership of their responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement support strategies to meet the unique needs of each participant, as outlined in their Individual Service Plan (ISP).
  • Respond to emergency situations, including medical events or incidents requiring community emergency personnel, and notify supervisory staff as necessary.
  • Document progress, incidents, and participant interactions, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collaborate with the program team to ensure a safe and healthy living environment, adhering to MHA's Core Values and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license, sufficient automobile insurance, and a safe reliable vehicle during working hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, and work cooperatively as a member of a team.
  • Good oral, written, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, caring, and compassion.
  • Ability to pass and maintain certifications in medication administration (MAP), CPR, and first aid.
