Position Overview:

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive medical assessments and treatments for patients at John Muir Health. Working collaboratively with the Supervising Physician, the NP adheres to established protocols developed in conjunction with the medical and nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and provide treatment plans for patients.
  • Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and offer counseling services.
  • Collaborate with physicians to ensure optimal healthcare delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (MSN or DNP) is mandatory.
  • Preferred experience includes a minimum of 3 years in nursing, specifically as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Specialty experience in areas such as Surgery, Oncology, OB, Hospitalist, Intensivist, Psychology, Gerontology, Urology, Non-Invasive Cardiology, or Trauma is required.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license from the California Board of Nursing is essential.
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification from the California Board of Registered Nursing is required.
  • NP-F certification for furnishing from the California Board of Registered Nursing is necessary.
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification from ANCC is required.
  • Additional NP clinical license certification through ANCC is preferred.
  • DEA registration from the Drug Enforcement Administration is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven ability to manage patient health and illness effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in collaboration with team members.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Basic computer skills for operating client/family information systems, word processing, and email.

Work Schedule:

Standard work hours are from 30:00 to 17:00, classified as exempt.

Compensation:

The hourly pay range is $125.29, based on relevant experience and licensure.

Weekly Hours:

The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.
