Position Overview:

A Nurse Practitioner (NP) at John Muir Health is responsible for delivering comprehensive medical assessments and treatments to patients in collaboration with the Supervising Physician. The NP operates under established protocols that have been developed through a collaborative effort involving the administration, medical staff, nursing, and Nurse Practitioners, and have received approval from the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Board.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program (MSN or DNP) is mandatory.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
  • Experience in one of the following specialties is essential: Surgery, Oncology, OB, Hospitalist, Intensivist, Psychology, Gerontology, Urology, Non-Invasive Cardiology, or Trauma.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license from the California Board of Nursing is required.
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) license from the California Board of Registered Nursing is required.
  • Nurse Practitioner Furnishing (NP-F) license from the California Board of Registered Nursing is required.
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification from the ANCC is required.
  • Related NP clinical license certification through ANCC is necessary.
  • Nurse Practitioner certification from the AANP is required.
  • DEA registration from the Drug Enforcement Administration is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven ability to manage patient health and illness effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in collaboration with others.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Basic computer skills for operating client/family information systems, word processing, and email.

Work Schedule:

30 - 17:00 No Waive (United States of America)

Compensation:

$125.29 Hourly. Compensation is based on relevant experience and/or licensure.
