About Us: Amazon's FinAuto RecTech, a key division within Finance Operations, develops innovative technology solutions that enhance scalability and efficiency for our clients. We serve over 75 Amazon businesses across more than 50 countries, managing billions of transactions globally related to billing, invoicing, collections, cash applications, and dispute resolution.

Your Role: We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing the foundational infrastructure and tools that enable our engineering teams to provide outstanding customer experiences. By creating scalable, dependable, and efficient platform features, you will help enhance our customer collection effectiveness, reduce manual processes, and streamline the systems used to manage receivables across Amazon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain essential platform components and services, including high and low-level design utilizing the latest AWS technologies for large-scale distributed environments.
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to define architecture and deliver platform capabilities. Optimize existing platform features and services for enhanced performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Lead the establishment and implementation of engineering best practices, using data to drive improvements in operational excellence.
  • Elevate code quality standards, focusing on security, readability, consistency, and maintainability.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and teamwork, proactively partnering with fellow engineers to mentor them and amplify their ideas. Provide training to junior engineers to enhance their contributions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
  • At least 2 years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling (non-internship).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 3 years of experience in the complete software development life cycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
