Job Summary

The Director of Materials is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control of ready-mix concrete operations across the Mid-Atlantic region. This role requires a strong understanding of the technical process for cement and concrete, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement quality control plans to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators to measure quality and efficiency
  • Collaborate with commercial laboratories, architects, engineers, and regulating agencies to stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations
  • Supervise quality personnel to ensure effective operations and promote personal development
  • Perform field work and lab testing as needed to support quality control efforts
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related field
  • 8+ years of experience leading regional quality operations within ready-mix concrete
  • PE license or related certifications
  • ACI, NRMCA, VDOT and/or NCDOT certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to read and interpret technical instructions and specifications
