Job Summary:

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a highly skilled Technical Trainer to drive employee and shop improvements across our Ohio, Tennessee, and Kentucky locations. This is a unique and highly visible position, with the opportunity to help take our organization to the next level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical training, including I-Car courses, product/equipment usage, company process, and other identified content to enhance repair quality, technician efficiency, and facilities, equipment, and teams.
  • Assess repair centers relative to appearance/functionality, equipment availability/condition, and staff competence/cohesiveness to identify areas for improvement.
  • Coach employees on the application of technical skills and building efficiencies in the repair process to drive business growth.
  • Develop and recommend training workshops for needs identified to help achieve target outcomes and support overall initiatives of the department.
  • Stay current on industry trends and developments and evaluate viability for our organization to ensure we remain competitive.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical background to include a thorough understanding of cosmetic and structural repair and refinish.
  • Experience delivering formal training in the collision industry, with a focus on I-Car courses and product/equipment usage.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence decisions up to the executive level.

Desired Qualifications:

  • I-Car instructor certification (including welding certifications).
  • High level of independent planning and organization, ability to work autonomously.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, including the Internet, Google platform, and Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable under the company's auto liability insurance policies.
  • Must be able to travel 30%, including overnight travel.

  • A face-to-face or Google Hangout interview will be conducted at a time and place to be determined.
