Position Overview

The Metal Fabrication Specialist at FLANDERS is tasked with the intricate process of welding and fabricating various components of specialized machinery. This role demands proficiency in constructing and assembling parts from the ground up, utilizing detailed blueprints and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute a range of welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, and ARC (stick) welding, as well as plasma cutting.
  • Conduct both horizontal and vertical welding operations.
  • Fabricate components and machinery parts of moderate complexity.
  • Analyze and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, including understanding weld symbols and requirements.
  • Document all necessary data to achieve desired service and design outcomes, including measurements and illustrations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Capability to fabricate with minimal guidance while managing multiple variables.
  • Knowledge of wire and filler material applications, as well as gases used for various metal types.
  • Basic proficiency in mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic geometry.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand moderately complex instructions, both written and verbal.
  • Capacity to learn and adhere to job-related training, operational procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills within established company standards.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and related equipment.
  • Willingness to work in confined spaces when necessary.
