Vehicle Maintenance Technician

At V3 Companies, our Construction and Ecological Restoration sectors offer a diverse array of services associated with the development of site infrastructure, wetland restoration, and native landscaping, which includes installation and ongoing maintenance.

The equipment employed in these operations encompasses a variety of vehicles, along with compact tractors, skid steers, power tools, trucks, trailers, and other assorted power machinery.

The Role
As a Vehicle Maintenance Technician, you will be integral in ensuring our fleet of vehicles and machinery operates efficiently. We seek an individual who possesses a combination of technical knowledge and practical skills.Primary Responsibilities
Technician I
- Conduct general automotive repairs (including Ford F-series pickups and SUVs):
- Oil changes
- Fluid replacements
- Address minor engine repairs on compact tractors, power tools, and landscaping equipment.
- Diagnose problems with vehicles and small engines.
- Maintain an organized workshop and keep accurate records.
- Utilize computers for work orders, timecards, and purchase orders.
Technician II
In addition to Technician I duties, you will:
- Manage standard gas engine repairs (trucks):
- Belt replacements
- Hose repairs
- Pump replacements
- Perform minor diesel engine maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks).
- Undertake major repairs and rebuild small engines (power tools).
- Execute brake replacements.
- Handle automotive heating and cooling systems.
- Conduct basic metal fabrication and welding.
- Replace hydraulic lines.
- Occasionally perform field repairs for landscaping equipment and attachments.
Technician III
In addition to Technician I & II duties, you will:
- Diagnose complex engine problems.
- Overhaul both gas and diesel engines.
- Repair and rebuild transmissions.
- Rebuild hydraulic cylinders, control valves, and pumps.
- Master structural welding and metal fabrication.
Qualifications:
Technician I
- Fundamental understanding of engine and machinery operation.
- Physical capability (ability to lift/carry at least 50 lbs).
- Comfort working on elevated vehicles.
- Adaptability to confined spaces.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn.
- Valid driver's license.
Technician II (Additional Requirements)
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the mechanical field.
- Familiarity with general equipment maintenance protocols.
Technician III (Advanced Qualifications)
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in the mechanical field.
- Class A CDL (preferred).
- Capability to train others on equipment operation and repairs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of truck, trailer, and equipment weights.
