Your Role

As a vital member of the Global Manufacturing Engineering Team, you will play a key role in shaping technology strategies and leading their execution within your designated region. You will oversee all site Manufacturing Engineering Leaders and work closely with Site Directors to meet performance objectives. Collaboration with peers in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, NPI Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Test Engineering, and Industrial Engineering will be essential to ensure that safe, efficient, and productive processes are developed and enhanced across all regional sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold a strong commitment to Safety and Quality across the regional technical organization.
  • Directly recruit, develop, and manage site Manufacturing Engineering Managers.
  • Facilitate the growth of the regional technical organization to align with current and future business demands.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to technical resources throughout the organization.
  • Ensure that all technical requirements for each site are met through collaboration with the Global Manufacturing Engineering Organization.
  • Oversee the capability and improvement of processes and equipment.
  • Champion the incubation, standardization, and deployment of new technologies.
  • Develop skills within the regional Manufacturing Engineering Team.
  • Manage the regional capital investment plan and ensure project execution aligns with expectations.
  • Drive performance improvement targets in collaboration with site leadership.
  • Ensure that processes and equipment meet performance standards.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of regional capacity and plan accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with global standards and documentation for manufacturing processes.
  • Support the successful integration of new products into the region.
  • Make informed financial decisions to optimize processes and document proposals effectively.
  • Align with Global ME standards and contribute to their development.
  • Support strategic decisions regarding manufacturing processes to achieve optimal costs.
  • Work to minimize fixed costs while enhancing productivity.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including space, time, labor, energy, and materials.
  • Encourage collaboration among the regional manufacturing engineering team and global peers.

Job Dimensions

  • Lead a team of up to 10 Site Engineering Managers, overseeing teams of up to 25 Engineers and Technicians.
  • Collaborate with multiple Site Directors and Global Engineering Leaders.
  • Manage an annual capital budget ranging from $5 to $60 million.
  • Define and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Lead teams across various remote manufacturing locations.
  • Engage in complex problem-solving and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Travel requirements: 20-35%.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of twelve years of engineering experience, including at least four years in a management role.
  • Familiarity with relevant manufacturing processes such as welding, painting, assembly, extrusion, injection molding, and metal fabrication.
  • Fluency in the primary languages spoken at the region's facilities.
  • Strong self-direction and adaptability in ambiguous situations.
  • Proficient technical writing skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to support operations at remote sites.
  • Flexibility in working hours to provide effective regional support.
  • Technical expertise in electrical and mechanical manufacturing and assembly systems.
  • Preference for experience with Advanced Manufacturing Techniques, including Industry 4.0 and Automation.
