Overview:
A reputable poultry processing company is in search of a Senior Reliability Engineer to spearhead the establishment, enhancement, and sustainability of reliability systems and processes within the manufacturing facility. The goal is to implement a strategic reliability-centered maintenance approach that optimizes asset lifespan and productivity through well-documented asset strategies.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Develop, oversee, and coordinate reliability programs and activities for critical assets, utilities, and support equipment by leveraging personal expertise, engineering resources, and collaboration with OEM and maintenance personnel.

2. Identify and mitigate asset reliability risks that may negatively impact operational or business performance. Employ engineering methodologies to address challenges and make informed recommendations, including the management of projects aimed at process enhancements.


3. Establish and uphold dependable equipment through predictive and preventative maintenance tools, safeguarding plant assets while continuously seeking opportunities to reduce maintenance expenses while ensuring high equipment availability and reliability.


4. Provide technical and project management assistance for the operation, maintenance, improvement, design, construction, and testing of manufacturing assets and related components.


5. Collaborate with Area Teams to achieve production and cost objectives through reliability leadership. Formulate and implement best practices for assets to enhance the mean time between failures (MTBF).


6. Responsible for the application of reliability concepts, including the development of Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance technologies, and the optimization of Preventive Maintenance to ensure high availability of plant assets.


7. Drive increased production and uptime using reliability tools and methodologies, including Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).


8. Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the design and operation of rotating equipment, developing equipment strategies (including lubrication, condition monitoring, and preventive maintenance), and managing mechanical integrity (including tanks, pressure vessels, and piping).


9. Formulate and execute plans for the continuous improvement of production equipment, processes, and process controls.


10. Work closely with both operations and maintenance teams to develop long-term equipment maintenance strategies and operator basic care (OBC), as well as support troubleshooting efforts through formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA).


11. Provide technical expertise on the field application of precision maintenance techniques and offer training, field coaching, and mentoring to maintenance supervisors and craftsmen.


Qualifications:
This role necessitates a Bachelor's Degree in Reliability, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (an advanced degree in a related field is highly preferred) along with a minimum of 5 years of reliability experience in a food manufacturing setting.

Specifically:
- Experience in meat/poultry processing is highly advantageous.
- Proven experience in developing asset strategies (time-based inspection/replacement and condition-based tasks).
- Familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Strong technical proficiency in applying Precision Maintenance techniques within industrial manufacturing environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of equipment design and failure modes, with experience in interpreting forensic evidence to identify failure modes.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
- Experience with or certifications in Predictive Maintenance technologies (Vibration, Infrared, Ultrasound, Motor Circuit Analysis, Oil Analysis, Non-Destructive Testing) is preferred.
- CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or CRL (Certified Reliability Leader) certifications are desirable.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma is ideal.
- Proficiency with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably IBM Maximo, and advanced skills in basic personal computer software (Microsoft applications); experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
- Ability to support risk-based inspection of fixed assets.
