Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize engineering expertise to identify and implement cost-saving and profit-enhancing improvements, leveraging local resources and minimizing capital investment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to develop short-term and long-term capital budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules, adapting to changing circumstances and ensuring compliance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Oversee all project sites and contractors, coordinating activities with local management and safety teams to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and document project scopes, soliciting competitive bids and ensuring equipment meets performance specifications.
  • Process and approve change orders, maintaining accurate records and justifying decisions.
  • Train project managers and construction teams in best practices, promoting effective project management techniques.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural, Civil, or Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of related work experience, with a focus on construction, refrigeration, or poultry processing equipment, and project management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and equipment layout, as well as office and CAD skills.
  • Ability to travel to remote facilities, plants, and offices, as required.
