Position Summary:

The Culinary Service Worker plays a crucial role in the preparation and delivery of patient meal services, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction while maintaining sanitary conditions throughout the service and clean-up processes. This position involves keeping kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean and organized state through various assigned tasks. The worker will assist with food tray assembly and other responsibilities as needed, collaborating with colleagues to ensure adherence to company service standards and inventory control procedures. All team members are expected to consistently monitor and comply with safety protocols and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preparatory tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and measuring ingredients for meals.
  • Adhere to infection control guidelines during meal preparation.
  • Prepare beverages and assorted items for delivery to designated areas, and manage catering requests.
  • Assemble and deliver patient meal trays efficiently.
  • Provide excellent customer service by serving meals in a friendly and efficient manner, following established service protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by regularly sanitizing food service areas and equipment, following a routine cleaning schedule that includes equipment, floors, and storage areas.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, write, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Willingness to perform routine tasks consistently on a daily basis.
  • Capability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One to three months of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Possession of a food handler card or Servsafe certification is preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Position Summary:

The Room Service Associate is tasked with serving meals to patients in a professional and efficient manner. This role involves working within assigned patient units and providing services that include assisting patients with meal selections, assembling, delivering, and retrieving meal trays, as well as accommodating special requests throughout the shift. The associate serves as the primary representative of the Food and Nutrition Services Department, contributing to a culture of comfort and compassion in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and preferences for special, modified diets within the guidelines of diet orders.
  • Set up trays within the patient's reach and assist with tray arrangements, including moving bedside tables and opening containers.
  • Follow infection control protocols during meal assembly.
  • Participate in required safety training and understand responsibilities related to general and job-specific safety.
  • Communicate any patient-related concerns to appropriate personnel promptly, following departmental procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, write, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Willingness to perform routine tasks consistently on a daily basis.
  • Capability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One to three months of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Possession of a food handler card or Servsafe certification is preferred.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
