About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Systems Engineer to join our team at Technical Staffing. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing Cyber Security support onsite and leading the identification of projects' security requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Analytical and Technical Security Recommendations: Offer expert advice to customers on security matters, ensuring their systems and networks are secure and compliant with industry standards.
  • Lead Security Requirement Identification: Identify and document security requirements for projects, ensuring that all necessary security measures are in place.
  • Participate in Network Design Reviews and Security Testing: Collaborate with customers to review and test network designs, ensuring they meet security standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate with System Development Teams: Work closely with system development teams to ensure network security standards are followed and implemented correctly.
  • Identify Additional Security Requirements: Identify additional security requirements based on Risk Management Framework (RMF) or as a result of security issues that put customers' systems at risk.
  • Review and Analyze New Systems: Review and analyze new systems, hardware, and software, providing recommendations on system security.
  • Review Security Documentation: Review Security Requirements Traceability Matrixes (SRTMs), System Security Plans (SSPs), and other IA documentation for completeness.
  • Provide A&A and RMF Guidance: Provide guidance to system owners to ensure accreditation success and compliance with RMF.
  • Support Information Assurance Readiness Reviews: Provide insight and recommendations during the customer's information assurance readiness review process.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship and Security Clearance: Must be a US citizen and possess a current TOP SECRET / SCI with POLYGRAPH clearance.
  • Education and Certification: Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or an advanced IA certification.
  • DoD 8570 Certification: DoD 8570 certification in IAT or IAM (desired).
  • Security Systems Engineering Experience: Experience in security systems engineering involving various computer hardware and software operation systems and application solutions in both stand-alone and LAN/WAN configurations.
  • Security Features and Vulnerability Experience: Experience with security features and/or vulnerability of various operating systems as defined by NIST, DISA (STIGs), and USCYBERCOM.
  • Network and Systems Security Administration: Experience with networks and systems security administration, operation systems security configuration, and account management best practices.
  • RMF Process Experience: Experience implementing RMF Process and NIST technical controls, as well as developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation.
Desired Skills
  • Self-Starter: Self-starter requiring limited direction and supervision.
  • Briefing Experience: Experience briefing senior customer personnel.
  • Organizational and Prioritization Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize numerous customer requests in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
  • AWS Experience: Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • IA and SE Process Experience: Familiarity with customer's IA and SE processes.
  • IA Vulnerability Testing Experience: Experience with IA vulnerability testing and related network and system test tools (i.e., retina, HBSS, EVSS, ACAS).
  • Cross Domain Systems Experience: Familiarity with Cross Domain Systems (CDS).
  • IC or DoD Cyber Security Experience: Experience supporting IC or DoD in the Cyber Security domain.
