Key Responsibilities:

Safety is paramount in all roles at Nucor. Candidates must exhibit the capability to uphold and promote safety standards and practices consistently.
  1. Lead daily safety and operational activities within the facility.
  2. Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  3. Organize and manage production schedules.
  4. Guide personnel development through hiring, training, and coaching.
  5. Act as a role model for compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  6. Assist management with strategic planning and budgeting.
  7. Collaborate with the commercial team regarding the sale of nonferrous materials.
  8. Conduct regular inventory assessments.
  9. Engage in hands-on leadership with team members.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or GED is required.
  2. A bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering, or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years of management experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting.
  3. Strong focus on safety.
  4. Experience in operations or manufacturing involving heavy machinery.
  5. Background in scrap processing is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
  1. Familiarity with inventory management and lean manufacturing principles.
  2. Proven communication skills across various levels of clientele and internal teams.
  3. Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  4. Proficient in using personal computers and software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  5. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  6. Demonstrated capability in initiating and leading projects and teams.
