Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sales Tax Compliance Specialist to manage tax return preparation and filing across various jurisdictions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring adherence to indirect tax regulations and providing essential training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with store personnel to address invoicing and exemption inquiries, acting as a knowledgeable resource.
  • Collect, verify, and maintain sales tax exemption documentation, following up with stores to enhance compliance.
  • Analyze system-generated reports to verify the correct tax amounts charged to customers and reconcile sales tax accounts.
  • Support tire center staff with inquiries related to sales tax exemptions and provide relevant training.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation related to tax compliance and support audits by various tax authorities.

Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient in advanced PC applications, particularly Excel and Google Suite.
  • Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, Customer First, OneSource, Vertex, or similar tax determination and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on clarity and professionalism.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
  • Ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively support inquiries and manage work assignments.
