Nurse Residency Program: Progressive Care Track

Are you a senior nursing student, nurse graduate, or new RN looking for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity? Look no further than our Nurse Residency Program: Progressive Care Track at Christiana Care. This program is designed to support new nurses in their transition to practice, providing a structured and accredited residency program that leads to increased competency, reduced error, and improved job satisfaction.
The program integrates lecture and simulation education, peer support, and up to 16 weeks of preceptor-led clinical experiences. You will have the opportunity to work on our intermediate or transitional level step-down units at our Newark or Wilmington campuses, and will be required to pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware (or compact state) prior to starting position.

Units available at this time include 3C: Intermediate Medical Unit, Cardiac Short Stay Unit, and 6S: Transitional Care Unit. Requirements include graduating from an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred), BLS required, less than 12 months of nursing experience by the start of the program, and eligibility for Delaware license as a Graduate Nurse/Registered Nurse or RN license from a compact state.
