Job Summary

LifeMoves is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Program Director to oversee our homeless services programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to our clients, managing staff, and ensuring the effective operation of our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Oversee the delivery of services in an ethical, professional, and effective manner.
  • Staff Supervision: Full oversight of staff, including hiring, training, supervision, and facilitation of staff meetings.
  • Program Development: Develop appropriate program procedures, policies, and forms, and ensure their implementation.
  • Annual Program Planning: Develop and implement an annual program plan in collaboration with staff and the Associate VP of Programs & Services.
  • Program Budgeting: Develop and monitor an annual program budget.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure compliance with contracts, including the San Mateo County Motel Voucher Program and Hoptel.
  • Reporting: Supervise the collection, compilation, and submission of all program statistics, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to senior administrative team.
  • Program Development: Coordinate program development in areas such as job development, follow-up programs, donations, food services, volunteers, recreational activities for clients, and other areas as needed.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise case management and Residential Service Coordinator staff, and provide direct services to clients as needed.
  • Community Partnerships: Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners, including the Veteran's Administration and San Mateo County leadership.
  • Workshop Development: Develop and facilitate workshops and support groups as needed.
  • Client Support: Address client appeals and grievances.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, or other humanities field required; Master's degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of non-profit management experience, with experience developing, managing, evaluating, and operating programs serving homeless populations.
  • Skills: Strong written and oral communication, personnel management, conflict resolution, and clinical supervision skills are necessary. Strong knowledge of substance abuse and relapse prevention, mental health issues, and domestic violence is required.
  • Cultural Competency: A strong foundation in the ideas and practices that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a commitment to ongoing professional development in this area.
  • Language: Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
