Tentamus North America is on the lookout for a talented Application Software Engineer to support the advancement of our internal laboratory information management system (LIMS). The Application Software Engineer will play a key role in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software solutions that align with user requirements and organizational goals.

YOUR ROLE IN OUR TEAM:

Reporting to the Software Development Regional Manager, your responsibilities will include writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code according to specifications; developing applications, scripts, and modules for our LIMS in collaboration with internal stakeholders; and testing and deploying applications and systems. Additional responsibilities encompass:

  • Designing and developing laboratory software architecture while ensuring the software's scalability, performance, and security.
  • Conducting comprehensive testing of applications to identify and rectify bugs, ensuring high quality and reliability.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation for all developed applications, including code, APIs, and system designs.
  • Performing software updates and enhancements while monitoring and maintaining existing software applications.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and fellow developers, while participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather and comprehend user requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications.
  • Staying informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Proposing and implementing enhancements to development processes and tools.

POSITION TYPE & WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time position | Hybrid model: 3 days in office, 2 days remote | Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM


QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS AS AN APPLICATION SOFTWARE ENGINEER

The ideal candidate will be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restrictions or sponsorship. They will have demonstrated experience in a similar capacity, preferably within a laboratory or scientific context, along with exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills, are essential. Additional qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of proven experience in software development is preferred.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, React, VBA, SQL, REST/SOAP, API, Groovy, and Crystal Reports, along with a solid understanding of Git and GitLab.
  • Experience with software development frameworks and tools, along with a robust understanding of development principles and design patterns.
  • Knowledge in requirements analysis, customization, programming, testing, and ticketing systems is advantageous, as well as familiarity with database systems and web technologies.
  • A dynamic, assertive, creative, and organized individual.
  • Strong economic and entrepreneurial thinking skills.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Competitive salary range of $75,000 - $90,000, along with comprehensive and affordable benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance). Ample paid time off and a matching 401k plan.
