Position Overview

As a Geotechnical Project Engineer, you will be instrumental in steering some of the most innovative and technically demanding projects. Your responsibilities will encompass orchestrating field programs, facilitating technical discussions with field personnel, and managing project-related activities such as budgeting and client interactions. Additionally, you will conduct engineering evaluations and compile technical documentation, alongside regular site inspections, supervising field investigations, and construction monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct or collaborate on the creation and execution of field exploration initiatives and construction oversight projects. Ensure that the work conducted aligns with project specifications and safety protocols.
  • Support the training and development of junior technical staff and technicians.
  • Perform engineering evaluations and calculations, developing moderately complex conceptual frameworks.
  • Conduct moderately complex spatial analyses.
  • Lead the preparation of technical documentation, including routine reports, figures, and tables; assist senior staff in compiling sections of larger, intricate reports.
  • Assist with project management activities such as budget forecasting, field report assessments, and proposal creation. Manage smaller projects under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer or geologist as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required; a Master's degree with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is essential.
  • At least one year of experience in project management is required.
  • A PE license is mandatory.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • All employees must undergo a background check, reference verification, and pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol testing.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of physical tasks and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Capable of consistent work on a computer.
  • Willingness to travel for both short-term and long-term assignments as required.
  • All employees are responsible for conducting their work safely, identifying potential hazards, and reporting them promptly to the designated project manager, as well as participating in safety briefings.
