Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown is a premier surgical specialty hospital dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare and community service. This facility operates as a collaborative venture among Baylor Scott & White Health, United Surgical Partners International, and local physicians. Accredited by the Joint Commission, the hospital features 24 licensed beds, a 3-bed emergency department, and 8 operating rooms. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, our surgeons specialize in various areas including Bariatrics, ENT, General Surgery, Imaging & Diagnostics, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery, Robotics, Total Joint, and Spine.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The ideal candidate for the CFO/COO role must exhibit strong leadership and expertise in financial management, operational oversight, strategic financial planning, compliance, and internal controls. The CFO/COO will be accountable for:

Leadership and Management:

As a vital member of the senior management team, you will provide comprehensive leadership and oversight of hospital operations, contributing to strategic and operational planning across the organization.

Financial Management Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Revenue Cycle Oversight
  • Expense Control
  • Financial Reporting
  • Coordination with Central Billing Office
  • Regulatory Compliance Reporting
  • Capital Planning and Management

Operational Oversight:

  • Business Office Management
  • Revenue Cycle Operations
  • Finance & Accounts Payable Management
  • Health Information Management
  • Materials Management Oversight
  • Dietary Services Management

Communication and Collaboration:

Engage directly with the Hospital Management Team, staff, physicians, Governing Board, Executive Committees, and senior leaders from USPI and Baylor Health Care System.

Departmental Responsibilities:

  • Business Office including Registration, Scheduling, and IV/Auth
  • Revenue Cycle encompassing Charge Capture, Collections, A/P, and Denials Management
  • Health Information Department
  • Materials Management Department
  • Dietary Department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
  • Recent experience in hospital financial management is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital Revenue Cycle Management and oversight of multiple departments.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required; a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Healthcare Administration, along with CPA certification, is preferred.
  • Proven leadership abilities, analytical skills, and proficiency in computer applications are necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are critical for success in this role.
