Position Overview

Join our HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Apprentice Program, designed for those eager to learn the trade in a dynamic and accelerated environment.

At Residential Heating and Air, we are currently welcoming applications for our apprentice program. This initiative is tailored to impart essential HVAC skills through a practical and hands-on approach.

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, complemented by real-world training with operational HVAC units serving as educational tools. The program is led by a seasoned technician with extensive field experience, ensuring that students receive practical knowledge rather than theoretical instruction alone. We condense the extensive curriculum typically found in trade schools into an intensive two-month course, emphasizing applicable skills and techniques for everyday service scenarios.

Upon successful completion of the classroom training, graduates will be paired with an experienced technician for further on-the-job training. This mentorship will cover vital skills such as performing diagnostics, effective customer communication, utilizing field equipment and technology, and executing both simple and complex repairs. This structured mentorship allows apprentices to ask questions and apply their classroom knowledge in real service situations, fostering a safe and guided learning experience that builds confidence.

All graduates are assured employment with Residential Heating and Air. Our apprentice program is free, and participants can earn while they learn. Once students complete their classroom training and are assigned to a mentor, they will receive compensation for their on-the-job training. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to acquire a trade without incurring tuition costs or student debt.

Compensation:

$15 - $20 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Ideal candidates should possess the following attributes:

  • Enjoy working with their hands and have a mechanical aptitude
  • Appreciate outdoor work
  • Be comfortable working in varying weather conditions
  • Exhibit strong moral character
  • Maintain a drug-free lifestyle (regular testing will be conducted; a positive result will lead to immediate removal from the program)
  • Desire a career rather than just a job, with a commitment to hard work
  • Be in good physical condition
  • Be prepared to dedicate a minimum of 6 hours per day for classes Monday through Friday for two months, followed by 3-6 months of mentorship
  • Be open to a lifelong career in HVAC
  • Be motivated and possess a team-oriented mindset aimed at achieving long-term career success
  • Prior military experience is encouraged
  • Must be in excellent physical health and capable of lifting over 50 lbs, passing a physical examination (HVAC work requires strength and endurance).
