Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and hard-working HVAC Technician III with a positive attitude to join our team. As an HVAC Technician III, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing environmental-control systems in various settings, utilizing your knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout.
Key Responsibilities- Installs, services, and repairs environmental-control systems in residences, department stores, office buildings, and other commercial establishments.
- Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power source.
- Responsible for installation, repairs, and troubleshooting HVAC malfunctions.
- Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
- Responsible for utilizing wire diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and drawings to perform repairs and maintenance.
- Responsible for installing and cleaning air and water filters.
- Responsible for installing and programming thermostats.
- Fabricates, assembles, and installs ductwork and chassis parts.
- Communicates and interacts directly with the customer, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
- Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customer.
- Communicates with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates.
- This position may provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
- Must wear PPE as required.
- Additional general maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years of HVAC experience.
- HVAC and/or EPA certification required.
- Must meet all North Carolina licensing requirements at a Master's or Journeyman's level or have a North American Technician Excellence (NATE) Certification or ESCO Institute HVAC Excellence Professional Level Technician Certification or be willing to successfully enroll in an accredited apprenticeship program.
- Must meet all requirements and perform all duties of HVAC Technician I and HVAC Technician II.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
