**Position Overview**

The Culinary Services Cook plays a vital role in the food preparation and service for residents, guests, and staff within the Monarchmn community. This position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities.

**Key Responsibilities**

The cook is responsible for:

  • Preparing and serving meals in accordance with established recipes and dietary requirements.
  • Collaborating with the Dietary Director and interdisciplinary team to enhance residents' meal acceptance, particularly for those on therapeutic diets.
  • Ensuring food service standards are maintained through effective cost, quality, and quantity management.
  • Providing meal options that respect residents' preferences and uphold their dignity.

**Essential Duties**

The Culinary Services Cook will:

  • Select appropriate ingredients and follow recipes accurately.
  • Monitor and adhere to tray cards and special diet orders.
  • Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming food and supplies.
  • Train and orient new staff members on food preparation and service protocols.
  • Uphold residents' rights and report any equipment or supply needs.
  • Prepare for upcoming meals by checking food and supplies.
  • Follow cleaning policies and checklists for kitchen equipment.

**Qualifications**

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong commitment to working with geriatric residents and understanding their unique needs.
  • The ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively, and collaborate with team members.
  • The capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Eligibility for employment based on a criminal background study as per the guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
