Job Summary

The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of the hotel, ensuring that all food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. This includes supervising and assisting in the preparation of all food items, maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, and minimizing waste and maximizing cost/production ratio.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure that they are meeting the highest standards of quality and presentation.
    • Develop and implement systems to control waste and maximize cost/production ratio.
    • Conduct regular meetings with kitchen staff to discuss menu planning, inventory management, and other culinary operations.
  • Menu Planning and Development
    • Develop and implement menus that meet the needs and preferences of hotel guests.
    • Source and procure high-quality ingredients and supplies.
    • Conduct regular taste tests to ensure that menu items meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels to ensure that all ingredients and supplies are available when needed.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits to identify areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement systems to minimize waste and maximize cost/production ratio.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation
    • Ensure that all kitchen staff are trained in food safety and sanitation procedures.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure that the kitchen is meeting the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
    • Develop and implement systems to prevent cross-contamination and ensure that all food items are handled and stored safely.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
