About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Merchandise Expert to join our team at Target. As a General Merchandise Expert, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming experience for our guests, ensuring the sales floor is zoned, in stock, and accurately signed, and executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional guest service, including greeting guests, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure the sales floor is visually appealing, with merchandise properly displayed and signed, and that inventory levels are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Execute daily/weekly workload, including processing inbound deliveries, completing backroom audits, and maintaining backroom and fixture room organization.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve business objectives and deliver on sales goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, sales trends, and business initiatives to provide informed and effective support to guests and team members.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or experience in retail or customer service preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests, team members, and management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest service and achieving business objectives.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a cash register.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
