Employment Type: Part-time Temporary, Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Varies, approximately 12 hours per week

Compensation: $20.31 per hour, commensurate with relevant experience.

Position Overview: This role involves providing tutoring support for students enrolled in the Animation Program. The position is based on the main campus and allows for up to 12 hours of tutoring per week.

Essential Qualifications:
  • High School diploma with completion of at least one year of relevant collegiate coursework in Animation.
  • Strong communication abilities, including active listening and patience.
  • Capability to articulate concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing, in one-on-one or small group settings.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in managing appointments and documenting data using appropriate software.
  • Skill in making learning engaging, tailoring sessions based on student inquiries and feedback.
  • Experience with Autodesk Maya and Adobe Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in training or teaching roles.
  • Professional experience in the animation industry, whether commercial or independent.
  • Familiarity with Toonboom software.

Position Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing tutoring support through drop-in sessions, scheduled appointments, and semester-long tutoring (both online and in-person) in relevant subjects, fostering supportive relationships with students.
  • Directing students to appropriate resources within the Academic Resource Center.
  • Maintaining accurate records in compliance with privacy regulations and keeping relevant staff informed about student progress.
  • Assisting with daily operations of the center, including front desk coverage, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment.
  • Supporting students with software and troubleshooting technical issues that may affect tutoring.
  • Utilizing scheduling systems to manage tutoring appointments effectively.
  • Participating in mandatory training sessions and other professional development opportunities as needed.
