Position Overview:
Role: AAC Tutor I - Animation, Academic Affairs

Employment Type: Part-time Temporary, Non-Exempt

Work Hours: Flexible, approximately 12 hours weekly

Compensation: $20.31 per hour, commensurate with experience

Benefits: Partial benefits available

Job Summary: This role involves providing tutoring support to students enrolled in the Animation Program. The position is based on the main campus and requires up to 12 hours of engagement per week.

Essential Qualifications:
  • High School diploma along with completion of one year of relevant collegiate coursework in Animation.
  • Strong communication abilities, including effective listening and patience.
  • Capability to articulate concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing, in individual or small group settings.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in managing appointments and maintaining records using relevant software.
  • Skill in creating an interactive learning environment, guided by student inquiries and feedback.
  • Experience with Autodesk Maya and Adobe Suite.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in training or teaching roles.
  • Professional experience in the animation industry, whether commercial or independent.
  • Familiarity with Toonboom software.

Key Responsibilities: Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing tutoring assistance through various formats, including drop-in sessions, scheduled appointments, and semester-long engagements, both online and in-person, while fostering supportive relationships with students.
  • Directing students to appropriate resources within the Academic Resource Center.
  • Maintaining accurate records in compliance with privacy regulations and keeping relevant staff informed about student progress.
  • Supporting daily operations of the center, including front desk coverage, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment.
  • Assisting students with technology and troubleshooting issues that may affect tutoring services.
  • Utilizing scheduling systems to effectively manage tutoring appointments.
  • Engaging in mandatory training sessions and other professional development opportunities as needed.
