About the Role:
The Public Sector Major Account team at Samsara is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Account Executive to join our team. As a Senior Account Executive, you will be responsible for owning customer engagements end-to-end, from prospecting and qualification to close. You will leverage Samsara's award-winning Business Value, Customer Success Management, and Leadership teams to effectively close large complex opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own customer engagements end-to-end, from prospecting and qualification to close
- Leverage Samsara's award-winning Business Value, Customer Success Management, and Leadership teams to effectively close large complex opportunities
- Generate pipeline through strategic outbound prospecting, as well as receive leads from our account development team
- Target the State of California's public sector customers
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles as we scale globally and across new offices
Requirements:
- Reside in the Sacramento area
- 5+ years of experience in a senior SaaS sales role selling into the State of California
- 5+ years of successful sales experience in Public Sector/SLED sales
- Proven track record of consistent quota over-achievement
- Experience handling and owning large complex deals
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- High comfort closing transactions of over $100k+ ACV in size
- Experience with building out a new territory and acquiring new high-value target accounts

- Ability to relate to clients at all levels of an organization
- Ability to quarterback a large geographically dispersed team
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Experience in government procurement vehicles and purchasing regulations
- Relationships within the Government Partner Ecosystem
Compensation Philosophy:
Samsara's compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles.
