Job Summary:

The ESL/DL Educator will play a vital role in helping refugee clients achieve their digital literacy and English proficiency goals by designing and delivering ESL and ESL-Digital Literacy classes. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting activities and lessons based on established teaching methodologies, teaching all classes according to an approved course syllabus, and designing and teaching basic digital literacy classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting activities and lessons based on established teaching methodologies.
  • Teaching all classes according to an approved course syllabus.
  • Designing and teaching basic digital literacy classes.
  • Maximizing students' speaking time through oral tests and presentations.
  • Displaying excellent classroom management.
  • Keeping accurate records of student performance.
  • Maintaining standardized guidelines.
  • Participating in and contributing to team meetings.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a non-profit or government setting, working with immigrants or refugees with limited English proficiency, and previous experience teaching ESL. The successful candidate will be a team player who is passionate about education and committed to helping refugee clients achieve their goals.
