Job Title: ESL/DL Instructor

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is seeking a qualified ESL/DL Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering ESL and digital literacy classes to refugee clients, helping them achieve their goals in English proficiency and digital literacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans based on established teaching methodologies.
  • Teach classes according to an approved course syllabus.
  • Design and teach basic digital literacy classes.
  • Maximize students' speaking time through oral tests and presentations.
  • Display excellent classroom management.
  • Keep accurate records of student performance.
  • Maintain standardized guidelines.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the team's efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole.

Previous experience working in a non-profit or government setting, working with immigrants or refugees with limited English proficiency, and previous experience teaching ESL is preferred but not required.
