Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Funds Information Associate to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This role will provide leadership, oversight, and quality assurance to ensure accurate acceptance and recording of gifts to the Institute.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight to ensure accurate acceptance and recording of gifts to the Institute.
  • Ensure all aspects of institutional information are captured and formally recorded efficiently and in accordance with donor intent.
  • Interact with various constituencies, including gift officers, senior leadership, and finance and investment partners.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to gift acceptance and recording.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of gift acceptance and recording processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to donors, gift officers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least two years of professional experience in gift administration, finance, accounting, governance of charitable funds, or nonprofit operations.
  • At least one year of experience delivering customer service.
  • Experience working with databases and data entry, preferably including familiarity with SQL or other programming languages.
  • Advanced-level knowledge of MS Excel and comfort using MS Word and Outlook.
  • Experience acting as a resource to guide a range of constituents through a complex administrative or financial landscape.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, deadlines, and follow-up.
  • Excellent organizational, relationship management, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Discretion and tact with confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the Ellucian CRM Advance gift system or similar fundraising database.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures in a legal or fundraising context.
  • Experience with database querying and data manipulation tools.
  • Professional experience in a higher education or nonprofit environment.
  • Familiarity with policies related to 501(c)(3) organizations.
