Job Overview

The Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls is in search of a full-time Communications and Administrative Assistant to deliver vital communications and administrative support to the pastorate. This role involves crafting positive and engaging content that aligns with the Diocese's branding standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and design of various communication materials including social media posts, websites, bulletins, videos, and presentations.
  • Draft and refine communication copy and materials.
  • Support the implementation of both internal and external communication strategies and initiatives.
  • Provide administrative assistance to internal teams.
  • Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
  • Organize marketing and networking events.
  • Draft and publish content for social media and web platforms in accordance with the established communication strategy.
  • Support the communications director in managing the organization's public image.
  • Maintain calendars and manage appointments.
  • Track projects and monitor media exposure.
  • Update and manage media contact lists.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated commitment to effectively communicate the teachings of the Catholic Church through various ministry activities.
  • Ability to exemplify the Catholic faith in both professional and personal conduct, adhering to the doctrines and moral teachings of the Church.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the communications aspects of the Church is preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Active participation in a Roman Catholic parish community.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in graphic design and editing software such as Canva and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and strategies, as well as website design.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative and innovative mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, managing multiple tasks and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals while maintaining confidentiality.

Working Conditions:

The role may require physical capabilities such as lifting items up to 30 pounds, and the ability to perform various physical tasks in an office setting and at different venues for events.

The work environment involves multitasking and meeting deadlines to ensure all essential functions are performed efficiently and courteously.
