As a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to offer support for incidents and service requests associated with the company's IT infrastructure, which encompasses servers, storage, data protection, and virtualization. You will troubleshoot and resolve intricate infrastructure challenges, ensuring prompt resolution by collaborating with fellow engineers and various teams. Moreover, you will play a pivotal role in executing, monitoring, and enhancing backup and disaster recovery strategies, safeguarding data integrity and availability. Your duties will also involve routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of infrastructure components to guarantee peak performance and security. It is essential to maintain accurate and current documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.
Location
- While our headquarters is located in Cincinnati, OH, we welcome applicants who are fully remote, regardless of their geographical location. Although the position is remote, occasional travel to ERP facilities or client sites may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance for incidents and service requests related to IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, data protection, and virtualization.
- Deploy, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure components, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
- Implement and uphold security best practices within the cloud environment.
- Stay updated on the latest security threats and proactively mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate closely with development and operations teams for seamless integration of applications and services.
- Create and maintain thorough documentation for cloud architecture and processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree is advantageous).
- Expertise in AWS or OCI support and design, with robust disaster recovery skills.
- Experience in data protection and disaster recovery.
- Familiarity with industry-standard hypervisors (certification is a plus).
- Knowledge of tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, CloudFormation, AWS IAM, AWS ELB, and Veeam.
- 10+ years of experience preferred.
- Proficient with VMware in various configurations and versions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work autonomously.
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Personality/Culture Fit: The ideal candidate will be comfortable with VMware in various versions and configurations, confident in tackling challenges beyond their current expertise, and willing to seek support for swift resolutions. Adaptability to a dynamic environment is crucial. The candidate should be confident and enjoy sharing knowledge, ensuring customer success, and taking ownership of their area of expertise.
