Job Summary

Hoyle Tanner and Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Ground Transportation Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of transportation infrastructure plans and specifications, conducting calculation checks, and performing construction observation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead CADD teammates and perform bridge design/miscellaneous structural design, bridge inspections/ratings, collect field data, and perform construction observation.
  • Develop an understanding of project budget, scope of services, project development, and project schedule, and provide updates and recommendations to the Project Manager.
  • Understand the client's organization, key people, and client expectations, and share best practices to improve performance and efficiency of self and team.
  • Develop person-hour estimates and budgets with guidance from senior staff, and lead small teams for moderately complex projects.
  • Assist in proposal efforts and development, and provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to develop entry-level and staff engineers, peers, and others as needed.
  • Conduct site visits and participate in or lead meetings with clients/contractors, and demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills for deliverables, proposals, and presentations in a public setting.
Requirements
  • BS (MS preferred) Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Current PE in NH, MA, ME, or VT.
  • Experience with MaineDOT, NHDOT, VTrans, or MassDOT and municipal bridge projects.
  • Experience with software and programs including AutoCAD, Microstation, Bridge Structural Analysis Programs, MathCad, BlueBeam, etc.
