Job Title: Litigation Docketing Specialist

Taft Stettinius & Hollister is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Docketing Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

The Litigation Docketing Specialist will play a critical role in supporting our litigation practice by scheduling and maintaining electronic calendars for all litigation events, due dates, and obligations for attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret various documents to extract upcoming events and requirements for docketing.
  • Create new events and update existing events in CompuLaw from notifications and requests for docketing.
  • Maintain the accuracy of data pertaining to the matters managed within the CompuLaw software.
  • Interact with court personnel, attorneys, and staff in a professional manner to obtain and provide data, answer questions, and resolve problems.
  • Prepare, process, and generate routine and special reports for distribution as needed.
  • Research and keep up-to-date on developments and changes in court procedures for various jurisdictions.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years related experience.
  • Experience using Aderant CompuLaw in a law firm, corporation, or government environment is required.
  • Experience with state and federal jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of the legal process, court operations, and federal, state, and local court and administrative rules.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex documents such as pleadings and other documents related to a litigation matter.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with, and follow instructions from, diverse individuals and to provide information with courtesy and tact in person, over the telephone, and in writing.
  • Ability to reason and apply common sense understanding to resolve problems and carry out instructions furnished verbally or in writing.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and perform mathematical functions normally needed to calculate dates.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office programs is required.
