Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Residential Sales Representative to join our team at YKK AP America. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for selling our residential vinyl products to business and industrial establishments or individuals in the Alabama and Tennessee region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sell YKK AP America residential vinyl products and related products to customers in the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain a customer base for repeat business, fostering long-term relationships and securing orders for YKK.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, utilizing various sources such as industry ads, trade shows, and online directories.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers, either in-person or via phone, to solicit orders and discuss product features.
  • Display or demonstrate products, using samples or catalogs, and emphasize salable features to customers.
  • Quote prices and credit terms for orders obtained, as well as estimate delivery dates based on company production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and maintain expense accounts.
  • Collaborate with customers' sales representatives to ensure account activities and literature are up-to-date.
  • Track customers' stock levels and coordinate customer training.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts and investigate/resolve customer problems with deliveries.
  • Perform light field service and repairs, as well as diagnose quality problems in the field.
  • Attend trade shows and perform additional duties as business needs require.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in sales or business, plus 0-1 year of experience in a related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Sales aptitude and experience.
  • Customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and perform small repairs.
  • Understanding of competitors' products and business practices.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position will involve occasional exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high places, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Special requirements include on-going travel away from home, familiarity with Microsoft Suite, and familiarity with industry estimation programs.
